One Day BI Labs is where we publish early concepts. This page explains exactly what data we collect and how we handle it.
What we collect and where
1. Votes and comments on Concept pages
On Concept pages (e.g. the SME Data Catalogue UI shell vote) you can vote for an option and leave an optional comment and persona. We collect:
- your vote (which option you chose — A, B, or C);
- an optional comment (free text, max 500 characters);
- an optional persona (role category — e.g. "Data consultant").
We do not collect your email address on Concept pages. Comments and votes are stored without any identifying information beyond the persona you choose. Comments may be quoted, anonymised, in future communications.
To prevent duplicate votes, a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address is stored
alongside your vote choice (for example, sha256("203.0.113.1") → e3b0c…).
The raw IP address is never stored and the hash cannot be reversed. This hash is used
solely for deduplication and is retained for as long as the Concept is active.
Concept pages use Cloudflare Turnstile to verify that form submissions are made by humans. Cloudflare may collect device and network signals to perform this check. No challenge is shown to real users — the check runs silently in the background. See the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum for details of what Cloudflare collects.
We store votes, comments, and IP hashes in Microsoft Azure Table Storage (West Europe region) operated by Microsoft on our behalf. Votes and comments are retained indefinitely until manually pruned or you ask us to delete them. To request deletion, email hello@onedaybi.com.
Your browser's localStorage is used to remember whether you have
already voted (so we can show a "you voted for X" badge on return visits).
This data never leaves your device.
2. The SME Data Catalogue waitlist
On the SME Data Catalogue App-home page you can join a waitlist. The form is provided by Tally, embedded on our page. When you submit it we collect:
- your email address (required);
- your first name (optional);
- your persona (optional — helps us understand who's interested).
We use this only to let you know when the SME Data Catalogue becomes something you can try. We will not sell it or use it for anything else without asking. Waitlist entries are retained for 24 months or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first. To be removed, email hello@onedaybi.com.
Data processors
| Processor | What they handle | Region |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft Azure | Static Web Apps hosting + Functions runtime + Table Storage (votes, comments, IP hashes) | West Europe (Netherlands) |
| Tally | Waitlist sign-up form and submissions (email + name + persona) | EU (Tally's DPA applies) |
| Cloudflare (Turnstile) | Bot-detection challenge on Concept page vote/comment forms | Global CDN (see Cloudflare DPA) |
Cookies, analytics & trackers
Our own pages set no first-party cookies and run no analytics. Concept pages load Cloudflare Turnstile — a third-party script that may set cookies or store data in your browser to perform bot detection. This script loads only on Concept pages when a vote or comment form is present. See the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
The Tally waitlist form loads Tally's script and may set cookies needed to operate the form; it loads only on the SME Data Catalogue App-home page.
Voting and comments on Concept pages use your browser's localStorage
to remember your vote across visits (no cross-site tracking).
Your rights
You can ask us to delete any comment you left or remove you from the waitlist at any time. Email hello@onedaybi.com. We aim to respond within 5 working days.
