How we handle your details

Plain English, and true of what this site does. Labs sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The only code from anyone else is Cloudflare's bot check, on Concept pages.

Who holds your details

When you browse

Looking around labs sends us nothing that we keep. Microsoft hosts the site and, like any web host, handles your IP address to send you each page.

Your browser keeps two small things, on your device:

• If you followed a link here from onedaybi.com, which one: the team the page was for, such as Finance, or that it was the footer link. It stays until you close the tab, and goes with a vote, comment or sign-up if you send one.
• On a Concept page, your browser remembers which option you voted for, so the page can show it next time. It stays until you clear your browser's storage and is never sent to us.

When you vote or comment on a Concept

We keep your vote (the option or verdict you picked), anything you write as a comment, the role you picked, and when you sent it. If you came from a onedaybi.com page written for one team, we keep which team.

Comments are public. Anyone can read a comment's text, the role picked and when it was sent, on the Concept page and from the address the page loads them from. Please leave your name, email and anything private out of a comment.

To stop one connection voting twice on the same Concept, we keep a keyed hash of your IP address: a code made from your address and a secret only we hold, so it cannot be matched back to your address without that secret. We do not keep the address itself, and the code is not stored with your vote or your comment.

Before we accept a vote or comment, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person sent it, not a program. Its code runs on Concept pages only, in a frame from Cloudflare, and our server passes your IP address to Cloudflare with the result to confirm it. What Cloudflare collects is set out in its Turnstile privacy addendum.

When you join a waitlist

Each app's page has a waitlist. When you join one we keep your email address, your name and role if you gave them, which app it was for, the page you joined from, when, and which onedaybi.com link brought you, if one did.

The record goes into the one list that holds enquiries from every One Day BI site, and we get an email with the same details.

We do not store your IP address, hashed or otherwise. To stop floods of sign-ups we count them per connection for ten minutes, in memory, and write nothing down.

We will send you one email, when that app is ready to use. Nothing else: no newsletter, and we do not sell or share your details.

Who else handles your details

Each handles your details under its own terms with us. Where that takes them outside the UK or Europe, we rely on the safeguards in those terms, such as standard contractual clauses.

Why we are allowed to

• Votes and comments: legitimate interest. We need to know what people think to decide what to build, and to stop one person voting many times. You can object at any time.
• Waitlist: consent. You asked us to tell you. Withdraw it at any time by emailing us, and we delete your record.

How long we keep it

• Waitlist records are deleted 24 months after you join, or sooner if you ask. A job runs every month to delete the ones past that date. We delete our copy of the sign-up email on the same schedule.
• When a Concept closes we delete its comments and its vote codes, and keep only the number of votes for each option, which says nothing about who voted.
• What your browser keeps stays on your device, as described above.

What you can ask us to do

• Send you a copy of everything we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Delete it. For a comment, tell us the Concept and roughly what it said: comments carry no name.
• Stop using it, without deleting it.
